"2025 China Patent Survey Report" Officially Released

According to the 2025 China Patent Survey Report, the level of patent commercialization in China continues to rise. The industrialization rate of corporate invention patents stands at 54.0%, an increase of 0.7 percentage points from the previous year (53.3%). The industrialization rate of corporate invention patents has shown steady growth during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
According to the 2025 China Patent Survey Report released by the China National Intellectual Property Administration on April 1, China's patent creation capacity continues to strengthen. The proportion of corporate invention patents obtained through R&D is 87.4%, an increase of 0.8 percentage points from the previous year and 2.9 percentage points from 2021. This proportion has remained above 80% throughout the 14th Five-Year Plan period, showing a steady upward trend.
The level of patent commercialization in China continues to rise. The average revenue generated from the industrialization of corporate invention patents is 872,000 RMB per patent. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the average revenue level from the industrialization of invention patents has steadily improved.
Overseas intellectual property layout is active. The proportion of enterprises that have filed patent applications abroad among those that export products overseas is 24.7%, an increase of 1.3 percentage points from the previous year (23.4%). Among the surveyed enterprises, the proportion that have licensed or transferred patents to overseas entities is 1.1%, and the proportion that use patents owned by overseas institutions or individuals is 2.3%, both showing an increase from the previous year. Enterprises are actively responding to the impact of unfair treatment or discriminatory restrictive measures abroad by increasing R&D investment and strengthening policy compliance measures.
