On the morning of April 22, 2026, the "2026 Campus Intellectual Property Awareness Week" event, hosted by the China University of Petroleum (Beijing), was successfully held on the university’s South Plaza. With the theme "Strengthening Intellectual Property Protection in the Energy Sector to Empower the Development of New Quality Productive Forces at CUPB," the Beijing MindArch Intellectual Property Office participated as a professional supporting unit, providing thematic presentations and on-site consultation throughout the event, which was warmly welcomed by faculty and students.

       During the three-hour event, the agency’s experienced intellectual property expert team focused on addressing the core needs of faculty and students in scientific research innovation and achievement protection, as well as the technical characteristics of the energy sector. The following five key areas were highlighted in on-site presentations and interactions:

       Using practical cases, the experts elaborated in detail on the logical structure, expression of technical elements, and common errors in drafting technical disclosure documents, helping faculty and students improve the quality of their submissions.

       2、Extracting Core Innovations from Research Projects and Academic Papers

       Faculty and students were guided on how to systematically organize research outcomes and translate scientific content into standardized terminology suitable for patent drafting.

       3、Overview of the Patent Pre-examination System, Application Processes, and Policy Advantages

       The session systematically introduced the eligibility criteria, regional policies, and accelerated review mechanisms of patent pre-examination, enabling attendees to understand how to utilize the pre-examination pathway for rapid authorization of high-value patents.

       4、Drafting High-Quality Patent Technical Disclosure Documents to Improve Pre-examination Approval Rates

       From the perspective of pre-examination, optimization strategies for drafting technical disclosure documents were proposed, emphasizing the logical coherence among technical problems, technical solutions, and technical effects to enhance pre-examination pass rates.

       5、Personalized Consultations on Patent Applications, Portfolio Strategies, Navigation, and Enforcement

      Tailored one-on-one consultations were provided for different research teams, covering practical concerns such as patent portfolio strategies, infringement risk prevention, and pathways for achievement commercialization.

       The event fostered a lively atmosphere, with nearly 100 faculty and students participating in consultations. Several research team leaders noted that the exchange clarified the pathways for integrating patent protection with scientific research innovation and strengthened their confidence in transforming technical achievements into high-quality patent assets.
