Trademark Office: Beware of Fraudulent "Cash on Delivery" Fees via Mailed Trademark Documents!

Date:2026-06-18

Recently, the Trademark Office of the China National Intellectual Property Administration issued a solemn reminder to be vigilant against fraudulent activities in which criminals exploit mailed trademark documents to collect cash-on-delivery postage fees. Since May 2016, the Trademark Office has fully implemented the electronic publication of trademark announcements and no longer sends paper trademark announcements to any entity or individual. All notification documents delivered by the Trademark Office to applicants are free of charge. Applicants are strongly advised to enhance their awareness of prevention, guard against all forms of fraud, and avoid unnecessary financial losses.
